Event Title:
Rich Remote Data: How to Run Your Social Science Research from Afar
Event Description:
“In the past year, researchers across the globe have shifted from primarily face-to-face to a variety of remote data collection modes. This has resulted in a new research paradigm that embraces modern digital solutions. However, evidence on the trade-offs between different remote surveying methods, and data quality constraints, remains limited. We are bringing together expert research organizations to share their findings on questions related to remote research approaches.
During this webinar on April 14, 2021, the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and IDinsight will take you through emerging methods research findings on:
- What sort of response rates can you expect and how can you increase these?
- How can you increase representativeness of your remote research? Specifically, how can you effectively reach different segments of the population, such as women?
- How do different remote survey methods such as phone vs. SMS compare?
- How can we ensure high-quality data when it is collected remotely?
There will be 30 minutes for Q&A following the presentations.”
