“We invite you to join us in a virtual discussion of Research In Pandemic Times to learn about the results of a survey on the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on social sciences and humanities researchers studying the MENA region and to discuss ways to overcome the challenges the pandemic presents. The discussion has been organized by Al-Fanar Media and the Arab Political Science Network.
Two authors of the survey, Marwa Shalaby and Gail Buttorff, will talk about what they learned from responses from more than 200 faculty members in 32 countries. Ample time will be provided for audience questions and additional discussion. The survey found that researchers who study the Middle East and North Africa region have faced increased difficulties compared to researchers focusing on other parts of the world.”
